I returned to the monastery and it was still late. I started tossing the new found energy with deep pleasure as it spiraled against the stone structures in the courtyard tearing into the ground and exploding sending flames into the structure. The monks ran out in horror as they saw who was starting the fire and explosions. First I was attacked by several of the greatest monks who were fully trained. The first one to die was the first one that approached me. With swift quickness I felt myself raising my blade as the monk thrusted a spear towards me. I quickly blocked the attack and shattered the head of the spear as a fiery force of energy was tossed at the other monks to repel them away from me. I then stalked ever so slowly towards the monk staring at the edge of his spear. He saw my approach as I hoped he would, and terror started to form in his eyes. He hopelessly thrusted his wooden stick at me hoping to get a shot in, but the blade sliced through the wood of the spear and with a quick recoil and a downward slice, the blade broke through his collar bone and half way down his chest near his heart. With a sickening twist and the crunching of bones splitting apart, I pulled the blade out and watched him stare at me with that, "Why did you do this?" stare.
Everyone there continued to jump me and many groups tried to kill me in that dark hour, but all failed. Several of the weaker memebers started to flee the monastery as I continued feeding the blade blood of the monks. Then there was two. Sparrow and the head master of the monastery. He baded my brother from approaching as he reached for a scabard that hung sacradly above a mantle. I never saw a monk wield an actualy metal object like a sword, but the master revealed an elegant blade lined with silver edges. I liked the sound it made when it ranged against my blade. The master and I enganged in a fight that could possibly be one of the toughest fights I ever took on in my life. He actually managed to land a blow on my right hand which was holding the hilt. The blade landed in front of me and I clenched both hands together and darkness started to build up around me. It was unlike anything I ever saw as the master tried to take another swing at me. His blade bashed into a barrier that surrounded me, and with new curiousity, I started to touch the shielding with my hands. The shielding's energy started to focus to a point and then a beam of dark energy speared out at the master and stabbed through his body. His old frail face stared at me in disbelief as he fell backwards. The wound he had given me then started to heal as I sheathed the dark blade.
Sparrow quickly came out to check on the master as I stood there watching him to see if he would challenge me.
The master offered his sword to Sparrow in his dieing breath, muttering softly in the flow of blood coming from his lips, "The start of destiny has come, take this blade as your own, and free the spirits from this world with it."
Sparrow grasped the blade and a bright white light started to fill the room and then fade. I kept my hand over the hilt as I started towards Sparrow. Sparrow kept his blade down as he stared deeply at me.
"Well?" I asked him.
"I am so sorry to see this Deneo. Why did you kill them?"
"To take my vengance for the treatment I got."
"I see," he said simply towards me.
"Well?" I asked as my hand dared him over the hilt of the black blade.
"You are my brother and there's nothing that will change that. I can't even raise a blade against you, so I will not impose on any of your ventures."
"So we're at truce by blood? So be it, as I will let lone with whatever dealings you fall into. No point in either of us destroying the other's interest."
"So where will you go?" he asked me as I started to walk off.
"Anywhere but here," I said as it picked up a few things and made my way to start my life.
